SB 40-Rは、以前から何度かリリースしていたSB40のMade in U.S.A.の新しいバリエーションになります。SB40は元々SWEETBEARの簡素型／大戦モデルとしてデビューしたもので、SWEETBEARの左右胸ポケット、内ポケット、チンストラップを排除、さらにフロントボタンの数を一つ減らしたものでした。今回のRバージョンは、そのSB40にチンストラップを追加した（戻した？）ものになります。シンプルな中にも新たなポイントが加わってよりパワーアップされました。2020FWのウールバージョンの３型は、冬場のアウターレイヤーとして有効なもので、薄手のアウタージャージ、シャツなどの上に羽織って頂くと良い感じとなっております。今回リリースの3型は、最後のアメリカ製となっています。
