French China (Bleu de Chine) has been a popular workwear among Chinese immigrants over France and Mediterranean area before the World War II. Many were made in Shanghai area, then exported to France. It gained popularity among non-Chinese workers of the area over the time, so do the Fashion people in Paris for its distinctive look. Fabric used on vintage French China has deep indigo hue and tasty character, along with fine and lost details such as narrow Chinese toggles which were made tight and sewn by hand – very different from later brethren. POST Chinois is a happy marriage of vintage French China and pre-war French workwear design…made by a factory near Shanghai with good old preserved hand work…for that authentic Chinese toggle…very small stitches like fine tailored clothing…elegant vintage French pocket design work…surely the very best. You can wear it as an outerwear of course, it works as an inner layer (=shirt) pretty well, then it serves over the shirt as mid-layer (=cardigan and such) as well…adds interesting exoticism to your coordination.
